Writing this review because I felt it was the right thing to do for my friends. I’m an American visiting my friends in Haifa. They were excited to try this restaurant and show me around the city. My friend called and tried to make the reservation, and they told him there were no tables. However we already knew what the real issue was (they knew he was Arab because of his accent) so I called back a minute later in my American accent and of course got us the table. We went to the restaurant the food and drinks were great. We then spoke to the manager and explained what happened. He told us they have to do this because Arabs don’t know how to behave. He then proceeded to tell us how on certain days they aren’t as racist and let them make reservations. He apologized and said he was ashamed, but this is how things work here. It just bothered me a lot to see someone so openly and confidently speak about another group of people like that. My friends are doctors and lawyers and to see how embarrassed they felt in front of me I can never reverse that. To the manager I can tell your a good guy, but you become a part of the problem when you refuse to become a part of the solution.
