Beautiful hotel, but the service is extremely disappointing and not worthy of a five-star rating. The reception staff were unpleasant and unhelpful, and the concierge did nothing beyond giving phone numbers for tour companies instead of assisting with bookings. He also refused to speak to taxi drivers, even though most taxis only accept cash, which made getting around very difficult. There is no money exchange nearby, and the hotel would only exchange up to £150, which is completely insufficient. The spa experience was also poor — staff were unfriendly, rarely smiled, and did not make us feel welcome or relaxed. The rooms are very dark(floor 9)especially the bathroom, making it hard to apply makeup. Most disappointing of all was management’s lack of interest in our complaints about the reception rude behaviour, even though we stayed in two VIP rooms. It’s hard to believe this hotel is considered five-star in terms of service. We will return to Dan Eilat, where we have stayed in the past — a true five-star hotel.
