Flour Mill

Reconstructed Flour Mill "You should not put grain between 'water millstones' except to grind them" This flour mill was reconstructed in accordance with many mills operating for hundreds of years alongside seasonal streams found in Israel. The milling was accomplished using the power of water falling through vertical penstock. In this mill, openings were made in the penstock and the floor to enable observation of the way in which the milling system operates. After the water has been used to turn the mill wheel, it is pumped back up to the top of the hill (for water conservation reasons) and reused. The output of a water-mill is 30-50 kilograms per hour.
