George Kouz Christian Store is a must stop while in the Old City. Beautiful locally handcrafted Olive Wood, Jewelry and Icons, along with other Holy Land souvenirs. Wonderful service and very good prices. It’s only a 5 minute walk from Jaffa Gate in the Christian Quarters #28. Stop in and meet a 3rd generation store owner and visit his shop for a great experience while in The Old City of Jerusalem.

Simply the best place to get high quality gifts and Holy Land keep sakes in the old city! Read more! My wife and I are on our first pilgrimage to the Holy Land and during our visit we tried our best to find quality gifts for our family back home and a few keep sakes for ourselves to remember these sacred days. Needless to say, this proved more difficult than expected. While walking the streets of the old city provides a stimulating and exciting experience, the quality of the goods found in many of the stores is lackluster. On one of our last evenings in Jerusalem we nearly gave up the pursuit of finding quality gifts (having refused to buy cheap “made in china” products from many other shops). BUT THEN WE FOUND GEORGE! Everything about George’s store, from the actual items he sells to the manner in which is displays them is 2-3 steps above any other store we visited. His products are high quality and individually priced. Do not expect to haggle him on the price. He has already fairly priced his items and will likely not come down. But this is for a good reason— his products are high quality! I cannot recommend Georges shop more! If you want Olive Wood figurines, Nativity Sets, Advent Candle Sets, Jewelery, Roman Glass, Shofar (kosher), and other trinkets, don’t waste your time at other stores. The Christian quarter is quiet an easy to navigate. Start and end your search with George!

Visiting George’s store was one of the most thrilling parts of our trip to the Old City. He has beautiful olive branch works of art and the finest jewelry in the old city! Not to mention he is one of the friendliest people you will meet during your time in Jerusalem!
